The CCSL will be forming a disciplinary committee to address any major player incidents or suspension appeals. Major player incidents may include repeat suspensions, serious infractions, behavior on or off the ice that threatens the reputation of the league or safety of any individual, maxed out penalty minutes, etc.
Ideally, a pool of players willing to participate in disciplinary hearings will be formed. When any disciplinary hearing is required, three members of this committee will be randomly selected to weigh in and vote on the issue at hand. They will be joined by select league staff as well as officials so that all parties have a say in the matter. Think of it like hockey jury duty.
Any player with potential bias to the team or player involved in the hearing will not be involved in that particular disciplinary hearing.
Disciplinary hearings would likely take up to an hour if required, and would be conducted over Zoom/Skype.
Thank you for interest.
